Judge’s Comments: We tend to shy away from annual reports that are heavy on informational text, believing it to be a deterrent to effective communication of an organization’s programs and financial status. However, given the nature of the Better Business Bureau’s structure and broad reach of its work, it would be hard not to have a 35-page report including everything that could reasonably be presented in its annual report. This report accomplishes the presentation of much information in a publication half that size that is pleasing to look at and interesting to read. We especially commend the inclusion of smaller pamphlets providing information about two important programs of the BBB in pockets on the inside front and back covers. This was a creative way to include more information, yet keep the main body of the report to a smaller size.
