Judge’s Comments: This title has all the elements of a gold winning entry. The recent redesign draws readers into the issue starting with a strong cover photo and logo. Each column and department is cleverly designed with call out quotes, fun infographics, photography and illustrations. There is also a strong tie to the website, apps and social media throughout the issue. The opening cover feature has strong graphics and typography that invite the reader to turn the page. The subsequent features are equally impressive and varied. The content throughout the issue is excellent.

Judge’s Comments: Middle Market Growth was launched in April 2013 as a digital only publication and “created 100% from the ground up for digital publication.” The association has more than succeeded in creating a cutting edge and interactive digital title. There are clear distinctions between each section. There are interactive buttons and embedded videos throughout the title. The creative team has come up with clever names for each section. There is excellent reader engagement throughout the issue along with links back to the main website. The design is easy to read on a computer screen and on a tablet. Other associations should use this title when they decide to create a digital only publication.
