'Associations - we're coming after you next'
A steady rain did not stop hundreds of marchers in Washington this week, who rallied against banks and their lobbyists. Organized by SEIU, National People's Action and other groups, marchers gathered at a park square along K Street, Washington's famed avenue of lobbyist offices, then marched to a Bank of America office next to the US Treasury Building. The protesters called for banks to help keep families in their homes and to help rebuild the American economy, while decrying the use of "lobbyists for Wall Street greed." Asked about associations that represent banks, which were not the target at the protest, one of the main speakers, Angel Seda of Good Old Lower East Side (GOLES), said, "We want [bank associations] to realize that we're coming after them next."
