Michael Lee is stepping down as executive director of the International Advertising Association, New York. He will stay on until his contract expires in March, according to news reports.
Lee is leaving to focus on his own media and communications firm, Lee & Steel, as well as other "emerging interests." He has been chief staff executive since 2006. A successor has not yet been named.
He told Ad Age that he "never intended to become a permanent fixture at the IAA but [I] feel very proud of the many accomplishments we've been able to achieve."
According to Ad Age, Lee helped establish a new brand identity for IAA, and worked to expand its conference and event offerings. Details: www.iaaglobal.org.
