Tita Freeman is the new communications and public affairs sr. VP for National Retail Federation, Washington.
Freeman was communications and strategy VP at the US Chamber, which she joined in 2008. Previously she was with Google’s Washington office where she developed the company’s first strategic outreach plan for trade associations and interest groups. Also, she was communications director for five years at Business Roundtable. In 2009, she was recognized in the feature “40 Under 40” by PR Week.
Freeman earned a BA from Williams College.
The hiring of Freeman and earlier David French to head of the NRF GR team is in line with the association’s plan to increase policy advocacy, communications and grassroots engagement. Details: www.nrf.com.
