Frank Keating, former CEO of American Council of Life Insurers, will be the next CEO of American Bankers Association, Washington. Keating will join the association on Dec. 1, but will assume his post upon the retirement of current CEO Ed Yingling in January.
He had been ACLI chief staff executive for eight years before retiring from the association earlier this month. Before entering association management, Keating served as governor of Oklahoma, as assistant secretary of the US Treasury, and general counsel and acting deputy secretary of US Housing and Urban Development Dept. He comes from a family of bankers and had served on the board of a savings bank.
Keating was succeeded at DC-based ACLI by Dirk A. Kempthorne, US secretary of the Interior under President George W. Bush from 2006 to 2009. Details: www.aba.com.
