Mobile Marketing Association, New York, named Greg Stuart CEO. Stuart succeeds Mike Wehrs, who left the association in December after about a year. Wehrs is currently interim CEO at the Scanbuy company.
Most recently, Stuart has been advising, directing and investing in venture-backed companies worldwide. From 2001 to 2007 he was CEO of trade group Interactive Advertising Bureau, New York. Under his leadership, IAB's revenue grew 500%, membership increased by tenfold, and Internet advertising spend growth increased from $6 billion to $17 billion.
Stuart has two decades of experience in business marketing, and has worked with digital media and telecom companies both in the US and internationally. In 2006, Ad Age named Stuart as one of "10 Who Made Their Mark" (the list also included singer Jay-Z and YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley).
He will oversee a new "repositioning" plan announced by the association in September that calls for creating new member benefits, and convincing brand and agency marketers to include mobile marketing in their plans.
Stuart is a member of the National Speakers Association. He earned a BA in economics from the U. of Washington, and completed Wharton's Advanced Management Program in 2008. Details: www.mmaglobal.com.
