New chief executive for risk group

Former staff head moves to another leadership role at organization

Greg Goeckner (pictured) is the new executive director of the Merchant Risk Council, Seattle, which focuses on electronic commerce payments and risk.

He succeeds Tom Donlea, who has become MRC's Americas managing director. Donlea remained executive director during the six-month search.

Goeckner most recently was general counsel at Motion Picture Association of America Los Angeles office, which he left in 2009 to relocate to the Seattle area. He had been at MPAA for 16 years, and was promoted to general counsel in 2007. Before MPAA he was special counsel at O'Melveny & Myers law firm.

He graduated summa cum laude from U. of Illinois with a BS in accountancy. He earned a JD from Yale and was editor of the Yale Law Journal. Details: www.merchantriskcouncil.org.
