The ASAE Technology Conference will be Dec. 5-6 at the Washington Convention Center. There will be more than 40 education sessions, including lessons on the financial impact of cloud computing and the logistics of moving to the cloud. A separate CIO Summit is scheduled for the opening of the conference.

NTEN: The Nonprofit Technology Network, Portland, Ore., released a study that found that while 99 percent of nonprofit organizations collect data on their operations, many do not fully use that data. A majority of those surveyed tracked financial data and used it in budgeting decisions, while smaller numbers of nonprofits tracked data related to communications and fundraising. Among the reasons cited by respondents as to why they do not fully use their data is a lack of manpower or time for analysis.

IEEE fourth annual Conference on Cloud Computing Technology and Science will be Dec. 3-6, in Taipei, Taiwan. Siani Pearson of HP’s Cloud and Security Research Lab will be a keynote speaker. IEEE will publish the conference's workshop proceedings.
