Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology Association, New York, has launched a new local division, LISTA Northern California Technology Council of Sacramento. The group has plans to expand their reach into the technology hubs of San Francisco and Silicon Valley. LISTA currently has 15 local councils.
Software and Information Industry Association, Washington, released a white paper discussing the best way for organizations to balance innovation and privacy in their approach to gathering data. The paper notes that though “data-driven innovation presents tremendous economic and social value…consumers and businesses have expressed legitimate concerns about how data is being stored and used.” Ultimately, organizations must seek, “a foundation of good data stewardship and trust.” The white paper is available here.
