My husband, Bill Deal, served as president of the International Sign Association, International Bottled Water Association, and National Association of Temporary Services, and was chairman of the former Greater Washington Society of Association Executives before his death in 1996. When he passed away, the William F. Deal Memorial Educational Trust was established for his daughter, Meghan. Many members of the association and hotel industry community reached out to us at the time of his death and also contributed to the fund for our daughter’s education.
Meghan graduated from college this past Saturday, May 5, 2012. She earned a B.S. in sports medicine with honors from Radford University. She was a member of Delta Zeta sorority. Her fingers are crossed that she will be accepted into grad school starting this fall. She will be pursuing a master’s degree in occupational therapy. No doubt, Bill would be very proud of his little girl.
The association industry is on my heart at this time because many people made her college education possible. I would love to be able to thank them and to make them aware of Meghan’s graduation. I thought perhaps a letter to TRENDS might give me the opportunity to do so.
Thank you from both of us,
Debbie (Deal) Nevins
Meghan Deal-Nevins
