Industrial Designers Society of America, Herndon, Va., chose Daniel Martinage, CAE, as its new executive director. Martinage was executive director at International Coach Federation for the past four years. He was founder and principal of Association Coach, an executive coaching and consulting firm. He serves on the faculty for the Center for Nonprofit Advancement and as a reviewer and judge for “The Washington Post Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management.” He earned a master’s in science, technology and public policy and a bachelor’s in political science and speech communication from George Washington University. Georgia Bio hired C. Russell Allen as CEO, effective Jan. 22. Allen was CEO of BioFlorida. Earlier he was CEO of BioSouth, and VP of Biosciences at the Metro Atlanta Chamber. Allen received a bachelor's degree in biology from Pepperdine and a certificate in Biotech Enterprise Management from the Owen Graduate School of Business at Vanderbilt University. Patricia McAllister stepped down after eight years as government relations and external affairs chief officer of Council of Graduate Schools, Washington. CGS has launched a search for her successor. Deirdre Mageean, currently the CGS dean in residence, will oversee the CGS government and public policy office during the search.
