Executive director Donald J. Borut announced this week he will retire from the National League of Cities, Washington, at the end of the year. Borut has served as executive director since 1990. He is currently a member of the board of the National Academy of Public Administration, and serves as secretary general of the North American Section of the United Cities and Local Government. American Academy on Communication in Healthcare hired AMR Management Services, Lexington, Ky., for full management services. Lisa Thompson is the new executive director. She was hired in 2011 as a programs and education coordinator. Tom Bingham, president, Utah Manufacturers Association since 2000, to retire June 1. His son Todd R. Bingham will succeed him. The UMA executive committee knew of Tom Bingham's retirement plans since November. Tom Bingham did not want his retirement announced until UMA completed its 2012 legislative work. Todd Bingham has served as president of the Utah Mining Association for the past three years. He also worked for Associated General Contractors of Utah, the American Concrete Pavement Association, Associated Builders and Contractors and the Utah Farm Bureau Federation.
