Bruce Skyer (pictured) is the new CEO of the National Kidney Foundation, New York. He succeeds John Davis, who served as NKF CEO from 1982 to 2011.
Skyer joined NKF in April 2010 as COO. He was chief financial and administrative officer for the Nonprofit Finance Fund. Previously he was an analyst at GTE and a director at Altria. (See related article, “New CEO for Nonprofit Finance Fund,” Sept. 8.)
He is a member of the New York Board of All Star Helping Kids.
Skyer graduated from Columbia University, and earned a Master of Business Administration from Fordham University.
Davis and senior vice president Dolph Chianchiano retired in August while the organization was undergoing restructuring, according to the website Nephrology News & Issues, www.nephrologynews.com.
Davis started as executive director of the NKF of Iowa in 1971 and was appointed executive director of the national organization in 1982. His title changed to CEO in the 1990s.
Chianchiano joined the foundation in 1979, and headed NKF’s public policy campaigns. Details: www.kidney.org.
