Angerosa Foundation honors association publishing professionals

02/02/2012

Angerosa Research Foundation, Alexandria, Va., announced the winners of the 2012 Publishing Trendsetter of the Year and Rising Star Scholarships.

Annaliese Hoehling, publications director for NTEN: Nonprofit Technology Network, Portland, Ore., is the 2012 Publishing Trendsetter and Amy Lestition, MA, CAE, executive director of Association Media & Publishing, McLean, Va., is the Award of Merit honoree.

Hoehling was selected for her digital publishing innovations at NTEN. She identified an important member constituency in need of tailored information - executive directors who supervise technology staff at nonprofits. She also spearheaded an effort to create NTEN: Change, an interactive online journal. The publication is funded by a $1.15 million grant from Google last year.

Lestition was selected for her leadership in rebranding, renaming and relaunching the former Society of National Association Publications into AM&P to better reflect publishing in a digital age. This includes renaming all AM&P publications, products and services, as well as introducing several new products, including a new website, mobile app, blog, and mobile website.

The Rising Star Scholarship recipients are Ashley Henson, public relations and communications manager, Competency & Credentialing Institute, Denver; Nhat-Thanh (Natalie) Ngo, senior editorial coordinator, American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Alexandria, Va.; Kim Schneider, communications editor, American Student Dental Association, Chicago; and Amy Tetreault, marketing and public relations coordinator, Tree Care Industry Association, Londonderry, N.H.

The $1,000 scholarships will be used to fund attendance at educational programs that focus on publishing, media, and association communications, including the 2012 FOLIO: Show, Society of Professional Journalists’ Excellence in Journalism: 2012, and ASAE's 2012 annual meeting.

The Angerosa Foundation is a research subsidiary of the Stratton Publishing & Marketing, Alexandria, Va. Details: www.strattonpublishing.com/angerosa-research-foundation.html.
