CFO promoted to CEO at Chief Executives Organization

Mike Geiger, MBA, CPA, succeeded Barbara Reno as executive director of the Chief Executives Organization, Bethesda, Md.

Reno remains adviser to the board until Nov. 1. The transition began in July after Reno notified the CEO board in May that she was leaving.

Geiger joined the staff in December 2010 and was CFO. Earlier he was CFO of the German Marshall Fund of the U.S. from 2005 to 2010. He earned an MBA-finance at Northwestern, and a BBA in finance and marketing at the University of Richmond.

Reno had been CEO's executive director since 2008. Before then, she was VP for Europe, the Middle East and India, based in Brussels, for the Conference Board, where she had several positions. Earlier, she founded and was president of Saratoga Marketing Advisers. Reno also was an executive at Simon & Schuster as well as for other companies. She is a graduate of Columbia Business School and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science and Spanish from Baylor. She married in September. Details: www.ceo.org.
