The future belongs to the fast.
That was the message of keynote speaker futurist Jim Carroll (right) at the 2016 DigitalNow conference, last week at the Hyatt Regency Orlando (Fla.). The technology conference, produced by Fusion Productions and a favorite event of the association community’s top executives, also featured keynoters Manny Dominguez, the inventor of the Veterans Administration Virtual Medical Center; Brain Traffic CEO Kristina Halverson; and Netflix co-founder Marc Randolph. Education sessions also were strong, along with ample opportunities for association executives to mix with exhibitors.
Carroll said change is happening faster than ever before, and “big change” can happen in six months or less. Many times it’s the constituencies that associations serve, and not the members or staff, who precipitate change. To hear more, including advice on how to effectively meet change, listen to the interview below between TRENDS publisher Emily Howard and Carroll.
