Direct Marketing Association names new CEO

Direct Marketing Association, New York, selected Linda A. Woolley as CEO, effective immediately. Woolley had been acting CEO since May 14. 

She succeeds Larry Kimmel, who resigned in May with more than a year left on his contract. He joined an ad agency.

Woolley was DMA EVP of Washington operations. In this role, Woolley was responsible for strategically managing DMA’s global advocacy, legislative, and political efforts, as well as DMA’s Nonprofit Federation, Internet Alliance, and Mail Moves America coalition. 

Under Woolley’s leadership, DMA launched the Data Driven Marketing Institute and was a founding member of the Digital Advertising Alliance.

Before DMA, Woolley was the founding principal of LegisLaw, a publishing and government relations consulting firm. She directed Washington operations for ITT Industries, and lobbied for ITT Corp. She also managed the environment section of the US Chamber and worked on Capitol Hill.
