Former director returns to lead Specialized Industry Publishers Association

A former associate director of the Specialized Industry Publishers Association, Tysons Corner, Va., will return to the organization as executive director, effective Nov. 5.

Janine Hergesell will succeed Matt Salt, who resigned in July. Heresell worked for SIPA from 1994 to 2008. Over her 14-year career at SIPA, she worked in office management, meetings and membership. She left as associate director to become director of email marketing and communications director at a SIPA member company, based in Stockton, Calif. She telecommuted from Virginia.

She graduated from American University.

The SIPA offices and staff will be move to the headquarters of the Software & Information Industry Association, Washington, when the merger between the two groups is finalized. Under the terms of the merger agreement, SIPA becomes a separate division of SIIA, with its own board and staff. Hergesell will report to the SIPA board for matters of SIPA Division governance and guidance, and Ken Wasch, CEO of SIIA, for operational matters. Details: www.sipaonline.org.
