Guidestar CEO Bob Ottenhoff announced recently he plans to resign at the end of the year once a successor is in place.
The GuideStar board has formed a search committee and hired SpencerStuart to assist in the search.
September will mark 10 years as CEO for Ottenhoff. During that time, Guidestar became known as a main source for association and nonprofit Form 990 filings and other financial data and information. He led Guidestar's acquisition of Philanthropedia and Social Actions, and created the next generation of DonorEdge for community foundations. Guidestar Web traffic has grown tremendously under Ottenhoff, to a projected 10 million users this year.
He has 25 years of management experience in public broadcasting and high-tech companies, including nine years as COO of PBS. He currently serves on the board of Vision TV, Grameen Foundation USA, Link TV, and Write on Sports. He previously served on the board of the AAFRC Trust for Philanthropy.
