New CEO announced for American Hotel & Lodging Association

Katherine Lugar will be the new CEO of American Hotel & Lodging Association, Washington. She will succeed Joseph McInerney, who announced his departure last year.

Lugar is public affairs EVP at Retail Industry Leaders Association, Washington. Before joining RILA in 2007, she was federal government relations VP at Travelers Insurance. Earlier she was legislative and political affairs VP at National Retail Federation. Lugar also worked for former Rep. Tim Roemer (D-Ind.).

She earned a B.A. at the University of Colorado-Boulder, where she was the 1991-92 student body president at its College of Arts and Sciences.
