New CEO for technology association

03/29/2012

TechAmerica hired an industry executive as its new CEO, effective immediately.

Shawn Osborne has more than 20 years of private sector leadership. He was CEO of Ulticom Inc., a telecommunications signaling service provider. Among his accomplishments in the 14 years he had been with the company, he led Ulticom through a successful public offering NASDAQ, where the company was recognized as the fourth-best performing Technology IPO of the year.

He is a past chairman of the Telecommunications Industry Association and is a graduate of the State University of New York.  Korn-Ferry International assisted in the search.

Osborne succeeds Phil Bond who left the association last year to form Petrizzo Bond lobbying firm in DC. COO Daniel A. Varroney was the interim CEO. (See “From association executive to head of lobbying firm,” Oct. 29.)

The association recently proposed a merger with Technology Industry Council and TechNet. Details: www.techamerica.org.
