New COO for Insured Retirement Institute
Claudia Mansfield Sutton, MEd, CAE, is the new COO at Insured Retirement Institute, Washington.
She had been executive director of the Student Youth Travel Association and the SYTA Youth Foundation for nearly two years, beginning in 2009 when the association became clients of Association Management Group, McLean, Va.
She was associate executive director, American Association of School Administrators, Arlington VA, from 2004 to 2009. Earlier, she was a lobbyist for AASA from 1981 to 1987. From 2002 to 2004 she was CEO, Association, Education and Business Institute, a consulting organization in Arlington, Va.
Memberships included USA Today Education Advisory Board, Phi Delta Kappa International, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, AASA, ASAE and the Navy League of the U.S. (See "News of the Week," March 9, 2009).
She earned a B.S. in education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and an MEd in language communications at the University of Pittsburgh.
