Cindy Squires is the new EVP of the International Wood Products Association, Alexandria, Va. She succeeds Brent McClendon, who left in December and became CEO of the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association, Alexandria, Va., on Feb. 1.
Squires has served as the regulatory affairs director for the National Marine Manufacturers Association. She also oversaw the operation of the NMMA’s BoatPAC. In her capacity at NMMA, she was active within the Lacey Coalition.
Before NMMA, Squires practiced environmental and administrative law at Beveridge & Diamond, and spent five years in the executive branch as a legislative liaison and regulatory analyst at the U.S. Agriculture Department, Agricultural Marketing Service. Before USDA, she was a legislative staffer on the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry.
Squires graduated cum laude from the Washington College of Law, American University, and is a member of the Maryland and the D.C. bars. She earned a B.A. in international studies from George Mason University. Details: www.iwpawood.org.
