Association Partner of the Year
Bob Harris, CAE, is President of The Nonprofit Center and has worked with thousand of associations and chambers, focusing on effective operations, governance and strategic direction and has shared so tips and templates so widely that he has sometimes been called “the Martha Stewart of association management”. He serves on the faculty of the US Chamber’s Institute of Organizational Management, has been very instrumental in helping develop ASAE’s CAE program over the years and has worked with the US State Dept. to develop associations in Jordan, Belarus and Japan- as well as being involved himself in starting and running the Tallahassee Society of Association Executives.
As TRENDS reported when announcing the award at the end of 2011, “Bob has a sterling reputation as a consultant on association planning and training”, and his commitment to associations- and mentoring- far and wide- are legendary and make him an outstanding choice for Vendor of the Year. Greg Melia of ASAE in introducing him at the Salute paid tribute to all the association communities who have “benefited from Bob’s generous wisdom for over 30 years” and requested that in lieu of an acceptance speech, he educate us with his key takeaways from his association experience.
