Recently, Printing Industries of America downsized its staff and will no longer maintain a hands-on training facility. Media reports say staff has been cut by 15 members, and the organization has considered moving to smaller headquarters space in Pittsburgh from its suburban headquarters.
Philadelphia CVB Global Messaging Project and ‘PHL’ marketing initiative have generated $1.2 billion worth of future conventions and contributed to a 43 pe cent increase in international visitor spending to the city over the previous year. PHLCVB president Jack Ferguson announced the figures at the bureau's annual luncheon at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown and attended by Mayor Michael A. Nutter and 1,200 hospitality industry leaders.
American League of Lobbyists, Alexandria, Va. members voted to rebrand the organization to the Association of Government Relations Professionals. The vote was 83 percent in favor of the change. Thirty-five percent of the membership participated in this vote. The ALL board recommended the rebrand to its members in October. A review of the membership found that the majority of ALL’s membership no longer identified themselves as "only lobbyists" and that most surveyed stated that their responsibilities as a lobbyist encompassed just a fraction of their duties.
