The Death of Performance Appraisals (and Why We Partied Afterward)
Recorded on April 26, 2017

Is there a problem with your performance appraisal system?

If you’re like most associations, it’s likely there is a problem.  That’s because traditional evaluation methods haven’t kept up with the times or the changing workforce. In fact, many of the assumptions used to justify the current appraisal process aren’t even true—and can actually lead to performance problems down the road.

It’s time to take a fresh look at your evaluation process and at new alternatives that could make all the difference.

In this 90-minute webinar, two experienced association executives discuss how they replaced the traditional performance appraisal with alternatives that have boosted morale, bolstered their cultures and helped their organizations focus performance on goals and outcomes that matter most.

Lessons learned you can use right away.  As these two executives describe their own transition, you’ll learn how to determine if there’s a problem with the way you’re currently evaluating performance and how to switch your thinking to solve those issues and seize strategic opportunities. It’s the real-world information you’ll need to make your own case for a switch. Plus, you’ll have the chance to ask your own questions during the Q&A portion of the webinar.

Reserve your space now to compare the effectiveness of what you’re doing now against the potential rewards of a new approach, including how to:

  • Identify faulty assumptions that can undercut the effectiveness of your annual performance appraisal process
  • Use effective counterarguments to support a transition to a more effective appraisal model
  • Focus time and energy on goals and outcomes
  • Craft a transition plan that builds on lessons learned from CEOs that have successfully made the switch from traditional appraisals

Bottom line: You’ll come away from this webinar able to assess the effectiveness of your current appraisal system and ready to apply new strategic thinking to change what you evaluate—and how.
