    Association News: 

    Informz, an email marketing service catering to associations and nonprofits, released its 2012 Association Email Marketing Benchmark Report. The study found that the day of the week mattered little on the open rate, but emails sent in the morning had a higher open rate than the mid-afternoon. Also, shorter subject lines were the most successful.

    Web Analytics Association changed its name to the Digital Analytics Association, Wakefield, Mass., effective immediately. The new positioning reflects the focus of the organization.

    International Association of Business Communicators World Conference, June 24-27 in Chicago, is expecting more than 1,400 participants. The conference will focus on professional development and best practices for those in the communications industry. Keynote speaker will be Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

    Business Marketing Association announced a new Go and Grow traveling conference for marketing professionals as an extension of its annual conference. The association has planned events across the country in the late summer and early fall.

    Communications and media professionals pay attention – March is International Listening Awareness Month, according to International Listening Association. The 2012 theme is “We Are Listening-Advocate, Research, Educate,” which is in line with the theme of the association’s annual convention in Bremerton, Wash.
