    Association News: 

    American Academy on Communication in Healthcare hired AMR Management Services, Lexington, Ky., for full management services. Lisa Thompson is the new executive director. She was hired at AMR in 2011 as a programs and education coordinator. A 1989 graduate of the University of Kentucky, Thompson spent 12 years with the National Tour Association in various roles before joining AMR.

    Associations expect their member communications expenses to largely stay the same over the upcoming fiscal year, according to the TRENDS Financial & Operational Excellence (FOX) Survey 2012.     Public Relations Society of America, New York, is partnering with five business schools to help provide communications training to MBA candidates. The pilot program will help establish an effective curriculum for the students, which will then be offered to business schools accross the country. The program was inspirred by a survey that showed that business leaders felt new MBAs were lacking an adequate background in communications training.
