    Nature Conservancy fills new COO position from within

    Brian McPeek is the COO of the Nature Conservancy, Arlington VA, a new position.
    McPeek will work closely with CEO Mark Tercek to lead and manage all major organizational initiatives. He will oversee the Conservancy’s conservation, marketing and philanthropy divisions. He reports directly to Tercek.

    “Adding a chief operating officer to our leadership ranks will help us build on our strengths to make the biggest impact on global conservation,” Tercek said.

    McPeek was the Conservancy’s North America regional managing director. Earlier, he was the deputy director of the Conservancy's Colorado program.

    Before joining the Conservancy, McPeek was with McKinsey & Co., where he advised Fortune 500, private equity, and select start-up companies on strategic issues, specializing in capital markets and corporate strategy. He also was active duty for eight years as an officer in the US Air Force, including assignments with the Office of the Secretary of Defense and Air Force headquarters. Details:
