    New EVP for New Orleans CVB

    Brad Weaber , CMP, is now EVP of the New Orleans CVB, a newly created position, effective Aug. 1.

    Weaber appointment is part of a reorganization of the CVB's convention and meetings program. NOCVB also is seeking a convention sales VP, to succeed Nikki Nicholson Moon, who is retiring after 31 years. Weaber will focus on a new, enhanced strategic direction for New Orleans as a convention destination, including new services and a re-imagined customer interface.

    He currently is EVP of association management company SmithBucklin's Event Services unit. Earlier, he worked for 18 years with Experient/Conferon, including as EVP and chief customer officer responsible for overseeing the sales and account management division.

    Weaber is a two-time president of the Capital Chapter of the Professional Convention Management Association. He served on the PCMA Foundation board of trustees, Starwood customer advisory board and Hilton Hotels advisory board. He is a member of the Las Vegas Customer Forum Board, ASAE and the International Association of Exhibitions and Events.

    He will be based in the CVB's DC office. Details:
