    New Electronic Transactions Association CEO has strong tech background

    Jason Oxman, CAE, APR, is the new CEO of Electronic Transactions Association, Washington. He succeeds Carla Balakgie, who left in October to become CEO of National Automatic Merchandising Association.

    Oxman was industry affairs SVP for Consumer Electronics Association, Washington. Previously, he was general counsel for Association for Local Telecommunications Services (now COMPTEL), and VP and general counsel for Covad Communications. Earlier, he worked at the Federal Communications Commission to develop and implement technology and broadband policies.

    He serves on the boards of two nonprofit organizations, Learning Ally in Washington and the Cushing’s Island Conservation Corp., in Maine.

    Oxman earned a bachelor’s degree cum laude at Amherst College, and a master’s degree in mass communication and law degree at Boston University.
