Keeping your association relevant for your future members

Plus, what do you think of the new EO on travel? Thinking Aloud, by Ed Dalere

Wondering about the future of your membership? Where are they going to come from, who are they going to be?

If this is what keeps you up at night, Association TRENDS has a new learning event for you: Membership2020

Co-hosted by XYZ University, Membership2020 is a deep dive into what the future of your association membership will be. (Like it or not, it's already here.)

The goal of Membership2020 is that each participant will take away something they can apply immediately, because membership is changing faster than we can barely keep up with.

Membership2020 isn't just for boomers to learn how to relate and appeal to millennials, or for millennials to teach everyone how to relate and appeal to them. This is a seriously useful learning event that brings together all the generations in the work force, who are concerned about the here and now, and the future of their association and how it can continue to represent the poeple working in their industries and communities, effectively and innovatively.

If this describes you and where your association is, then you must attend Membership2020. Details and to register, click here.

President Trump has released his new executive order on travel restrictions. The new directive details categories of people eligible to enter the U.S. for business or medical travel purposes, and makes clear that green card holders and those with travel documents are not affected, a major point of contention of the original order. How does the new travel executive order help, hinder or do nothing at all for you association? Send me your comments at
