2018 Association Partner of the Year - Edward Wendling

Global Vice President of Marketing, Advanced Solutions International

Edward Wendling, global vice president of marketing for Advanced Solutions International, is the Association TRENDS 2018 Association Partner of the Year.

“We are delighted in the choice of Edward. He personifies partnership with the association community, an active participant while he successfully tells and demonstrates the story of iMIS and how it is a powerful tool that helps associations and nonprofits,” TRENDS publisher Emily Howard said.

Wendling will be honored at the annual Salute to Association Excellence, March 1 at the Capital Hilton in Washington, along with the other TRENDS honorees: the Association Executive of the Year, the Leading Association Lobbyists, the Young & Aspiring Association Professionals, and the winners of the All Media Contest.

He joined ASI, the developers of iMIS association and not-for-profit software, in 1998 and has held various marketing-related positions until being named to his current position in 2017. During his tenure with ASI, the company has grown by 300 percent, expanded into more than 20 countries, and become the most widely used association software.

One of his first responsibilities with ASI was building the company website and database with its own iMIS software, an area he continues to oversee.

Wendling started his career in the association space in communications and membership with the National Alliance of Business, a business association focused on workforce development.

He is a longtime member, supporter and participant of nonprofit organizations, including in ASAE, Nonprofit Technology Network, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Canadian Society of Association Executives, and the MemberWise Network of the U.K. He was also an early supporter of and AMS Fest (now a division of Columbia Books & Information Services, parent company of Association TRENDS).

Wendling has produced and contributed to a number of industry publications including the Association Executive’s Guide to Performance Improvement, the Global Benchmark Report on Membership Performance (an annual survey), and the Association Executives Guide to Data Security Best Practices. He has contributed articles to Association TRENDS.

He is a graduate of the Virginia Tech Pamplin College of Business.
