    New EVP for pharmacists group

    Background in public affairs

John Voliva, RPh, is the new EVP of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists, effective April 4.

He succeeds David Miller, RPh, who left in December. Cynthia Blankenship, Esq., of the Rose law firm, was transition adviser. She also leads the DQSA Coalition, which IACP established to ensure that the Drug Quality & Security Act legislation enacted in 2013 is being implemented as Congress fully intended.

For the past several years, Voliva has worked public affairs for PCCA, a licensed bulk pharmaceutical repackager.

After receiving his B.S. in pharmacy from the Purdue in 1999, Voliva became the owner/pharmacist of Hook's Apothecary, Indiana's first compounding-only pharmacy.

He is a long-time member of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists, National Community Pharmacists Association, American Pharmacists Association and Indiana Pharmacists Association. For the past two years, he has served on the DQSA Coalition.
