It was a night of celebration and sympathy at this year's ASAE Summit Awards Dinner. Six associations were honored for their programs that made a powerful impact on their respective communities: Association of Equipment Management Professionals, College of American Pathologists, National Auto Body Council, National Council for Behavioral Health, National Volunteer Fire Council, and Soroptimist International of the Americas.

The evening raised more than $800,000 for the Power of A Fund from 1,000+ attendees. The event is considered a power event for executives in the association community.

This year's dinner, however, followed days after the worst mass killing spree in modern U.S. history as nearly 60 were killed and more than 500 injured at an outdoor concert in Las Vegas. Emcee Steve Anderson, CAE, CEO of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and a past TRENDS Association Executive of the Year, shared moving, sympathetic thoughts before and after a moment of silence for the victims.

The evening moved on to celebrate the winners of the Summit Awards, and to groove to the musical stylings of Johnny P, the night's entertainment sponsored by the Nashville (Tenn.) Convention and Visitors Corp.
