She has been a tireless advocate for diversity in the industry, recalling the days when she often was the only woman in the room. Through her insight and action, she has diversified the ISA board of directors and advisory committees and has led programs that draw young people into the industry, develop the next generation of leaders and help women connect with each other and grow in their careers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lori is a past chair of the NAM Council of Manufacturing Associations Board of Directors and was recognized in 2013 by the NAM with its Leadership Award. She has served as a member of the Boards of Directors of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), the European Sign Federation, and the American Sign Museum. She also is a member of the US Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100. In 2003, she obtained the ASAE Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation, and in 2018 was selected as an ASAE Fellow.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her roles in the business community and association world, she has volunteered with Generation Hope, which helps student-parents, and with A Wider Circle, an organization that helps create stable homes and job readiness.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Her greatest success is her family, husband Tom Edge and adult children Kelsey Edge and Ian Edge.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining ISA in 2004, Lori was with the Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI) in Washington, DC, where she was responsible for a number of programs, including government affairs, statistics, international trade policy and strategic planning. Representing members across 80 countries, AABB sets rigorous standards, accredits institutions, and delivers education aimed at optimizing patient and donor care. BenAvram is a passionate advocate for blood donation and biotherapies, ensuring these critical resources are available when and where they are needed.<\/p>\n<p>Under her leadership, AABB has undergone a cultural and organizational transformation, including a full name and brand redesign, reflecting the diversity of its global membership and solidifying its role as a leader in biotherapies. BenAvram played a pivotal role in advocating for the successful revision of U.S. blood donor criteria, expanding eligibility by eliminating questions based on sexual orientation. In 2022, she further advanced the field by launching the first-ever credential for professionals in cellular therapy, the Certified Advanced Biotherapies Professional<\/p>\n<p>With nearly 25 years of association management experience, BenAvram is highly respected for her strategic vision, talent management, and dedication to fostering inclusive cultures that drive innovation. Before joining AABB in 2018, she served as CEO of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, where she led the organization for more than a decade, driving strategy and global engagement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BenAvram has been widely recognized for her leadership and contributions to the business and association sectors, including with the Emerging Leader Award from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), the Forty Under 40 Business Leader award by Washington Business Journal and listed as a Top CEO by CEO Update. She was named an ASAE Fellow in 2016 and is a past member of the ASAE Board of Directors.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her executive leadership roles, BenAvram is deeply committed to high impact causes that support vulnerable communities. ReMA underwent a rebrand in 2024 and was previously known as the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI). At ReMA Brianna has been instrumental in transforming the membership program and revenue since she came onboard in late 2019. In the 6 years since she began, Brianna has increased the total number of members by 39%, departmental revenue by 62% , and new membership by 227%. In addition, her membership program averages a renewal rate between 87-90% annually including through the pandemic. In addition to strong numbers, Brianna has also developed several out-of-the-box programs including a &ldquo;ReMA on the Road&rdquo; program to reach members across North America, engage new staff, and promote the recycled materials industry;&nbsp; developed an entry-level membership program; a badge program to honor membership benchmarks; and much more. Prior to ReMA, Brianna led membership programs at several leading associations including the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), Solar Energy Association (SEIA), National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA CLUSA), Sourcing Interest Group (SIG), National Association of EHS Management (NAEM) and many more. Brianna holds a B.A. in Communications-Public Relations from Susquehanna University.
