In the Trends in International Association Meetings from North American 2015 Survey Report, meeting planners report that a shift is taking place among decision makers in the industry. Instead of site selection committees, more associations are turning to executives to make final decisions in destination selection. The 2015 report finds 49 percent of respondents say their boards make the final decision on a destination selection, followed by 35 percent who say it is an executive (up by 9 points from last year). Only 11 percent of respondents say the site selection committee made the final decision. Details: Marketing Challenges International, www.mcintl.com.
