Association TRENDS Takes AMS Fest 2018 in Chicago, IL

Association TRENDS kicked off the summer with AMS Fest which took place June 6 – 7th in Chicago, IL. In past years Association TRENDS has attended AMS Fest, a conference focused on association management systems designed to give attendees one on one time with peers, consultants, and potential AMS vendors, but this was AT’s first year hosting the event.

AMS Fest’s event space, Catalyst Ranch, was one that had to be seen to be believed! It was something straight out of a movie with eclectic art, stuffed animals, unique seating, and even arts and crafts spaces with pipe cleaners and play dough stations. Association TRENDS upped the fun by including a cotton candy machine and with the help of Achurch Consulting, a snow cone machine! The quirky environment set the scene for two fun, innovative and creative days where over 120 association executives and technology partners discussed emerging technologies and test drove the latest in AMS platforms.

Some stand-out sessions included: “What does AI mean for Associations in 2018” presented by Amith Nagarajan, rasa.io, “Storytelling with Data” presented by Julie Sciullo, Association Analytics, and Lynn Disbrow, Institute of Real Estate Managers, “Been There; Done That” Association Executive Panel featuring Dean Comber, American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and James Marquis, American Academy of Pas, and the “Ask Anything Panel: Everything to Do with Selection and Implementation Challenges” with Wes Trochlil, Effective Database Management, Gretchen Steenstra, DelCor Technology Solutions and Moira Edwards, Ellipsis Partners

AMS Fest also featured 14 platform previews from the top AMS companies including:

  • Advantage CS
  • Altai Systems
  • Aptify
  • ASI by iMIS
  • Cobalt
  • Euclid
  • Fonteva
  • Impexium
  • Matrix Group
  • MemberClicks
  • MemberNova
  • Nimble
  • NOAH AMS
  • Protech

Association Executives who were shopping for a new AMS could choose which platform they wanted to demo and were then able to meet with the partners to get the questions they needed answered before heading home.

Thank you to everyone that came out and joined us for this awesome event! If you missed all the fun, don’t worry! AMS Fest is back November 1 – 2, in Washington, DC. Register now at amsfest.com.
