Earning the highest points in Content, this book is designed to pull you in at every spread with its multiple points of entry. 2013 Silver Award: 2012 NMHC OpTech Conference and Exposition Program

Convention Program

Judge’s Comments: This program was at the top of our list during the initial pass through the contest entrants, until we encountered the overall excellence of the first place winner, but it is a very close second. The idea of putting a conference program into a virtually-pocket-sized booklet seems so basic — yet very few convention planners opt for this format. But to qualify as a winner, the design and substance of the publication also have to measure up. From the tabs that provide ready access to all of the necessary information — Agenda/Exhibitors/Sponsors – and the maps of the convention space and exhibitor hall that are right up front, to the design that is easy to read, easy to follow and very informative throughout, this is a top-notch program from start to finish.

2013 Silver Award: First Look at ACTFL 2013

Convention Promotion Package

Judge’s Comments: Another interactive approach in a small form–as a 1st look/reminder about the event it pre-empts the audience’s questions in an engaging way by “unfolding” as the communication continues. Colorful, visually simple, straight forward text, and compact.

2013 Silver Award: AICPA News Update

Daily or Weekly Communication

Judge’s Comments: AICPA always produces strong efforts (landing in the winners’ circle each of the last three years).* They just get “it,” with concise content, including member-oriented news stories, updates, and how-to articles. Marked improvements and attention to detail show in this year’s major relaunch, which showcase expanded feature sections to include video, LinkedIn conversations and media mentions.

2013 Silver Award: MCA Chicago Safety Kit

Direct Marketing Piece/Promotion

Judge’s Comments: Well, this is overwhelming. This mailer goes to show that “lumpy mail” rather than a regular mailing can have impact. The products and services arrive looking like the latest Harry & David box. It’s quite impressive first impression. It makes you want to dive into each item and find out if they are for you! The cost on such a mailing makes this a very, very special mailing.  This type of mailing could be paying dividends for years to come, word of mouth alone would continue for years

2013 Silver Award: InfoComm 2013 Exhibitor Prospectus

Exhibitor Sales Kit

Judge’s Comments: You never know what specific trigger will cause a prospect to act. It doesn’t matter with InfoComm’s exhibitor kit because the every page has the contact information. The audience for this kit understands visuals and the designers deliver on clear, distinctive layout and illustrations that show you who attends and what they buy. This has everything necessary to decide and plan to exhibit in a succinct package.
