2012 Silver Award: Checkpoint July/August 2012 Issue

Monthly Newsletter or Communication

Judge’s Comments: Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW) Checkpoint was last year’s bronze winner for its down-to-earth simplicity. This year, a graphic revamp moves the VFW print-only publication up a notch. The publication added color and an updated layout, but still retains clear focus on who its members are and what kind of content they value. There’s effective integration of graphics/photos and copy, and smart use of cut lines.
