Exhibitor Sales Kit

Judge’s Comments: The cover of the FMI Exhibitor Sales Kit would immediately entice me to open it. Once opened, you’re presented with clean and simple reasons to attend their conference. The “Know Your Customer” theme is cleverly carried through using UPC codes before unveiling the people behind. The colors attract attention without being distracting. The stats, charts and testimonials make a clear case for why someone should invest in this show.

Judge’s Comments: One would expect the International Sign Assn to know how to grab someone’s attention and they do with their exhibitor sales kit. The eye catching layout and design would stand out in your morning stack of mail. After grabbing your attention, each flap you open unveils another reason you should exhibit at their conference with testimonials, numbers, and three simple goals which would entice any business. 2011 Gold Award: 2011 Asphalt Institute Membership Directory

Membership Directory

Judge’s Comments: The gold winner employed extra durable, no fingerprint stock and rounded tabs to accommodate heavy usage. The design is eye-catching and clean while simultaneously incorporating a clever motif to convey the organization’s emphasis on service to its members. Advertising was limited to internal programs and services, giving it a less cluttered look and feel and highlighting the organization’s relevance within the industry.

Judge’s Comments: The ISSA Promise Kit is amazing! The membership welcome kit provides all of the key information new members of ISSA need to become involved with the organization and to help achieve higher revenues at their company. The blue box is the complete package because it not only provides the usual information; members receive a USB drive pre-load with detailed content, an ISSA pin, access to further resources through QR codes, brochures to give to their clients, etc. The design is crisp and exudes who the association represents — the commercial cleaning industry. ISSA clearly understands their audience and how to best communicate with them. The content is easily accessible. Overall, the ISSA Promise Kit welcomes new members with excitement and in style. Very clever. Wish all associations had the budget to implement something similar!

2011 Silver Award: SLAS The Lab Man Podcast Series

Monthly Newsletter or Communication

Judge’s Comments: The Lab Man Podcast Series utilizes wry humor, personal opinion, and science to entice members to listen to the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening’s brief monthly programs. From the fun sound effects at the beginning and end of each podcast, to the slightly monotone delivery that reinforces stereotypes of scientists, to the association marketing messages that are delivered as personal opinion, the monthly audio offerings don’t miss a beat. There are also complementary blog posts that match up to each podcast, but often offer slightly different content than the podcasts themselves.
