2011 Bronze Award: Checkpoint, July/August 2011

Monthly Newsletter or Communication

Judge’s Comments: Glossy paper isn’t always important if your target audience is more down-to-earth. That’s why the matte finish and deceptively simple layout of the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ Checkpoint work effectively with action-oriented headlines and articles. The over-sized self-mailers also offer a mix of content that highlights VFW programs, offers case studies, and acknowledges volunteers.
