Discover How the American Nurses Association Is Transforming Continuing Education for Its Members

The American Nurses Association (ANA) had a problem that may sound familiar. Because the association has multiple subsidiaries, learning had become highly fragmented and siloed across a handful of learning management systems—an arrangement that was difficult to maintain and manage and negatively impacted learner satisfaction.

The ANA has since embarked on a mission to make learning more engaging, personalized, and easier to access. This effort has led to:

  • Improvement in Net Promoter Score from 5 to 8–10 on new interactive courses.
  • Over 400 courses delivered to ANA members using D2L’s Brightspace platform.
  • 4,000 new members accessing the learning portal—double the number previously accessing multiple learning systems.
  • A 60% increase in conversion to purchase of courses due to the course catalog redesign and implementation of e-commerce capability.

The ANA reported it consolidated from eight systems to one, allowing it to move in a cohesive, consistent direction and provide creative, innovative content for each of its members.
