Judge’s Comments: I’m not sure I’ve ever been this impressed with a lapel pin as a promotional item. Linking the pin to a series of contests and networking opportunities throughout their convention was genius!

Eat Right Calendar

Judge’s Comments: Visually alone this calendar is impressive but I was even more pleased to discover its three fold purpose to promote upcoming events, the Journal’s member photo contest and member engagement made it even more appealing. 2011 Gold Award: AAHPM Promotional Messaging Magnet

Promotional Items

AAHPM Promotional Messaging Magnet

Judge’s Comments: As mentioned by the entrant, the field of hospice and palliative medicine is a relatively new field in the US. This magnet, displayed in offices, does a fantastic job of portraying the benefits of this care to patients and caretakers. It is an easy to digest message and I love the way the font size and color are different when projecting the positive benefits. They took a rather ordinary promotional item and made it special and meaningful.

The One Material You Trust: T-shirt Giveaway

Judge’s Comments: The “Think Harder. Concrete” campaign t-shirt was a smart and effective way to deliver a range of messages in one format. Also, with natural disasters on the forefront of the news throughout the world, using the tagline “the one material you trust between you and a disaster. Think Harder. Concrete.” is just jarring enough without being offensive. An excellent and straightforward campaign.

Style 'n Smile Goodie Bag

Judge’s Comments: This promotion stood out because of its elements and its overall purpose, promoting orthodontic health and encouraging confidence in young teens. By pairing back-to-school fashion with braces is a great way to promote directly to their core audience. Each package included water-less tooth brushes, a nail file, a picture frame, social media menu and gift certificates to local, affordable jewelry stores for teen girls all neatly packaged in a matching lunch bag.
