CHEST 2012 "Day in the Life of" Social Media Project

Judge’s Comments: Very good use of twitter. If this were simply a Twitter category, they might win. But this show a great way to communicate what is happening at a conference to members.

AICPA Social Media and AICPA Insights

Judge’s Comment: The first thing that stands out about the American Institute of CPA’s is their thorough social media plan. Many social media plans will include one or two social networking sites, but the AICPA has embraced more than just Facebook and Twitter, they have utilized LinkedIn, YouTube and maintain an active blog. The use of LinkedIn is particularly impressive. LinkedIn can be a powerful tool for professional associations, and AICPA has leveraged it well. They maintain two groups, one closed for members only information and the other open to all people will an interest in the field. The careful attention they’ve paid to all of their social networks has paid off with impressive growth in their ability to connect, communicate and educate their members. The campaign is to be commended.

Trusted Choice Facebook Fundraiser

Judge’s Comment: This campaign was not only effective, but shows how strong partnerships can generate strong return. Trusted Choice grew organically because they were donating money to a well known charity. By tying the amount of money being donated to new likes, the association not only grew the social media base, but also generated incredible good will while solidifying a solid brand image.
