The Power of PAC Dollars; do PAC Contributions Lead to Victories?

Association TRENDS, like the rest of the country, has been watching the 2018 primary elections and gearing up for an exciting November. Many may not know this but the team behind Association TRENDS also publishes the Almanac of American Politics and produces the database Lobbyists.info. As a result, we are closely monitoring the intricate details of US elections and watching as the primary winner’s victories are credited to the support of party leaders, local politicians, and influential PACS.

One question we have is, how much do those PAC dollars truly affect the outcome of these elections?  Below you’ll find a summary of top spenders, and election outcomes with more to come this fall. Check back in with Association TRENDS after the November elections when we will do a full analysis on all the campaign winners and losers and see where PAC dollars helped push candidates to victory or where they fell short.

Take a look at the top 10 PACs (3 of which are association linked) that contributed the most amount of money in the 2017-2018 election cycle.
